THE Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) is now offering "Cardiac Risk Assessment Screening Promotion" until April 25. The screening package can be last redeemed by May 30.
The Cardiac Risk Assessment Screening package includes a consultation by specialist cardiologist, check-up for vital signs, body mass index (BMI), blood test – fasting glucose and lipid studies (cholesterol), electrocardiogram (resting ECG), and coronary calcium scoring (CT scan).
"Heart Disease is one of the top 10 killers in Brunei. This disease can be identified by symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness and others. By taking this Cardiac Risk Assessment Screening, our specialists can help identify most cardiac abnormalities, particularly those who had a family history of sudden cardiac death," said Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin, Marketing Officer of JPMC.
He also added, "A visit in every two years can help you monitor your heart condition. Heart disease need not be fatal especially if you receive medical attention and treatments at the earliest stage possible."
An appointment is required for the screening package. For patients who had undergone the CT scan within the last two years will be replaced with a stress test, and is required to bring their previous report during the review with doctors.
Package inclusions are not exchangeable with other services and any unutilised tests or services are non-refundable.
Patients are advised to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time. In preparation for the check-up, patients must fast for at least 12 hours prior to their appointment except for plain water consumption when necessary.
The Outpatient Department is open 24 hours. The services offered in the department include health screenings, adult vaccination, acute and chronic medical conditions, and many more.
