JERUDONG Park Medical Centre (JPMC) has been appointed as the official first aider of the upcoming Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between JPMC and the defence and security exhibition's organiser, Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS), took place yesterday at the Menchanai Room of RBTS' headquarters in Kiulap.

Signing on behalf of RBTS was its Chief Executive Officer and BRIDEX Exhibition Director, Hjh Rosmawati Hj Manaf, who was witnessed by BRIDEX Deputy Exhibition Director, Zailani Yusof. JPMC, on the other hand, was represented by its Executive and Medical Director, Dato Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafer, who was witnessed by the medical centre's marketing officer, Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin.

At the signing ceremony, Dato Dr Hj Md Isham expressed his gratitude for the appointment. He said, "We are delighted to partner up with RBTS as the official First Aider for the upcoming BRIDEX 2013. We are very honoured to serve the community and offer our assistance in every possible way."

As the leading private specialist hospital in the Sultanate, JPMC will oversee and handle all first aid or emergency situations that may arise during BRIDEX 2013. Exhibitors and visitors alike can expect quality care and attention provided by highly trained and qualified personnel from the medical centre.

"JPMC has been an important stakeholder to BRIDEX since its inception in the Jerudong location which began in 2009," stated Hjh Rosmawati. She added, "Ever since then RBTS would prioritise JPMC as BRIDEX's First Aider, as well as for any emergency health response during the show and demonstrations. Being at close proximity to JPMC, RBTS also fully respects the need for any advance notification on the noise level expected from the much awaited airshows, the traffic flow to the venue and need for tight security. RBTS appreciates the continuous support JPMC has provided over the years in helping promote BRIDEX as a renowned international defence exhibition."

Earlier this year, RBTS has sent over 40 of its employees to obtain its first aider certification with the medical centre as part of its Occupational Health Safety (OHS) programme, aside from equipping them for the defence and security exhibition.

BRIDEX 2013 will be open to public on December 5, from 9am to 5pm, as well as on December 6, from 8am to 11am. Visitors to BRIDEX 2013 can expect exciting air demonstrations and exhibition displays. To join the experience, tickets can be purchased from RBTS' headquarters in Kiulap, BRIDEX Office in Jerudong, RBTS Paintball Arena at the Jerudong Sports Complex or from selected Baiduri Bank branches.
