Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Executive

The OHS Executive will be responsible in assisting the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health, and Fire Safety plans, programs, procedures and maintain compliance with the national authorities’ requirements and standard.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HSE, Health Management, Fire Safety or related field from an institute recognized by the Ministry of Education is required.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certification is required.
  • Knowledge and skill in Occupational Health and Safety work such as inspection, investigating, report writing and risk assessment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections and audits of hospital facilities in JPMC and PJSC, including wards, offices, and common areas, to identify potential safety hazards, OHS violations, and fire safety risks.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with local authorities’ regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions for hospital staff such as fire safety and emergency response procedures which includes in-house training, e-bulletins, briefing and emergency drills.
  • Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and personal protective equipment (PPE), is properly maintained, inspected, and replaced as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and risks associated with processes, or projects. Make recommendations to mitigate risks and improve safety.
  • To conduct orientation to company registered contractors, vendors and suppliers.
