​The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) Health, Safety & Environment, a unit of Administration Department held an official fire marshal certification ceremony with Fire Rescue Department to present certificates for over 150 employees and allied companies of JPMC.

The event was delighted to have Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham bin Hj Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC as the Guest of Honour. Yang Mulia Tuan Lim Hock Guan, Director of Fire and Rescue Department also present to witness one of JPMC’s proud moment.

The video began with a short video showcases the 4 batches of employees going through the 3-days training with Fire Rescue Department, from the theoretical learning to the practical exercise of mocking a real scenario.

An opening speech was delivered by Yang Berhomat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham bin Hj Jaafar to express his appreciation to both employees and Fire Rescue Department helping to achieve a higher standard of safety for JPMC. “As an organization and workplace that includes employees and also patients and visitor, it is our imperative an ongoing pursuit to meet all required international health and safety standards.”

Yang Mulia Tuan Lim Hock Guan, took the opportunity to also deliver an inspiring speech elaborating on what has been learned throughout the 3-days training and how each of the fire marshal can take full advantage of their knowledge by sharing it with others, “Any knowledge on portable fire extinguisher may also be shared with family members and friends for the benefits of everyone. Fire safety awareness is very crucial for every occupant in the building to reduce incidents of fire”

A token of appreciation was presented to Yang Mulia Tuan Lim Hock Guan by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham bin Hj Jaafar for their contribution. Shortly followed by congratulating each of the certified Fire Evacuation Marshall (FEM) with certificate presentation for all 152 employees. The event concluded with a group photo with the Fire Rescue Department, Management & Staff of Jerudong Park Medical Centre, Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, Gleneagles JPMC, Royal Brunei Catering, Borneo United and Mr Baker.
